Poverty in Pop

     Many songs that are popular in culture touch on many events that are happening in culture at the time. With that being said, poverty is a common subject amoung pop artist and song writers. Many celebraties have been through hardships before they reach stardom. We listened to songs that dealt with poverty. Some of these songs are "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman, "Royals" by Lorde, and "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson. Many music artist sing and write about their hardships.

     How do you express your hardships? 

     Have you ever been through any hardships that have changed your life?

  1. Music is such an important for of expression and art. I think it is so important that the stories of the people in poverty are told through music. Music connects every social class, every person. It allows us to appreciate each other more.
